You may experience:
You don't need to experience all of these for counselling to be helpful.
ADHD can affect executive functioning — the skills involved in planning, organising, starting tasks, managing time and regulating emotions.
This can create a frustrating gap between knowing what you need to do and being able to get started or follow through.
Over time, repeated struggles can also affect confidence and how you see yourself.
Understanding why these patterns occur can be an important first step toward changing how you manage them.
My approach is practical, supportive and individualised.
Together we may work on:
The aim isn't to make you function like somebody else. It is to understand how you function best.
ADHD and anxiety often occur together.
Constantly trying to remember things, meet expectations, manage time or avoid mistakes can become exhausting. Some people also become highly self-critical after years of being told they are lazy, disorganised, too emotional or not trying hard enough.
Counselling provides space to understand these patterns while developing practical ways to manage them.
You don't need a formal ADHD diagnosis to seek counselling for difficulties with overwhelm, organisation, emotional regulation or other ADHD-related experiences.
Counselling does not replace a formal ADHD assessment or medical diagnosis. If assessment is appropriate, we can discuss this as part of understanding what support may be helpful.
I have extensive experience working with ADHD and neurodivergence across adults and young people.
My approach combines practical strategies, psychoeducation and therapeutic support while recognising that each person's experience of ADHD is different.
